picturing THE MOMENT

the_moment

The moment is a drop of water. It’s easy to miss if you aren’t paying attention. It’s dripping with anticipation, a promise of movement to come. It can be missed with the blink of an eye. However, when you capture it — in your mind’s eye or with your shutter — it makes you see things differently – not focusing on the past or the future, but being fully alive in the present.

This picture is a gentle reminder for me as my Photography Art Show approaches this Friday to stay in the moment. Things have been hectic — and by hectic, I mean crazy. I have been busy matting, framing, and wiring the work. Assembling note cards. Promoting the show as much as possible. We hang the photographs TODAY. In midst of all of this swirling, I am trying to savor the moment…drinking it all in. I have been overwhelmed by the support of others. Amazed to have overcome each obstacle (there have been a couple) as it has arisen. Delighted with the actual photographs. At each stage of the process, I want to deeply BE in the moment. Because although the moment is fleeting, it is everything.

Big BIG congratulations to you. Both on the show, and on staying present enough to enjoy it. When it’s all said and done, you can sit back with that lovely glass of wine, and decompress. I hope it’s WONDERFUL.

I’ll be thinking of you & wishing that I could be there! I’m sure it will be great. Maybe we can catch up next weekend & you can tell me all about it!

By the way, I’ve been meaning to say that I want to buy a print of one of your photos – I don’t want to choose it, I just want you to pick one for me. It can be anything – and it will be more meaningful knowing that you picked it out! I plan to put it in my new office so I can show off your work! We’ll discuss more on the phone, just wanted to mention it while I’m thinking about it!

  1. that is so cool, congratulations to you!
